New Delhi, July 14 (ANI): Congress Party on Thursday hit out at the Opposition parties for politicising the serial blasts in Mumbai, which killed at least 18 persons and injured over 131 others.
"At this point of time it is very important for the nation to buckle its belts and to stand solidly as united whole, not to make divisive comments as unfortunately some sections of the opposition are doing," Congress spokesperson Abhishek Manu Singhvi told mediapersons in New Delhi.
Singhvi further said that the investigations are in progress to ascertain all the facts pertaining to the blasts.
"No stone will be left unturned and already, the speeds with which forensic details have been collected are in process. Special units of the NSG (National Security Guard, a special response unit) and the other paramilitary and other security forces have been flown there," he added.
Meanwhile, Communist Party of India (Marxist) leader Brinda Karat condemned Wednesday's serial blasts in Mumbai.
"We strongly condemn these attacks in the diabolical plan of the terrorists to target particularly crowded places, when it is known that thousands of commuters will be there. That is absolutely and strongly condemnable. But what we do, also demand is, the investigation processes and processes of punishment have to be on a much quicker basis," said Karat on the sidelines of a seminar in New Delhi.
"Because very often, we have seen that investigation agencies have done quite a shoddy jobs and those who are actually involved or responsible for the terrorist attacks, sometimes get away our innocent people are caught and incarcerated," she added.
BJP spokesperson Rajiv Pratap Rudy earlier today criticized the government for not attributing any responsibility to the intelligence agencies for the terror attacks.
"When any incident which occurs, when we have a large network of intelligence agencies and intelligence networks, it is a failure. So out rightly denying that it was not an intelligence failure, I think, is an act in which the Home Minister is trying to condone this terror attack," said Rudy.
The three serial blasts rocked Zaveri Bazaar, a popular jewellery market, the busy business area around Opera House and the crowded Dadar area of Central Mumbai between 6.45 p.m. and 7.04 p.m. on Wednesday. (ANI)
